Major County Sheriff
Sheriff Darin Reames
Sheriff Darin Reames has dedicated his adult life to the law enforcement profession by providing public safety to the citizens of Major County. Since appointed sheriff in 2018, he has brought the Major County Sheriff’s Office to a level of professionalism that is noticed by the entire State of Oklahoma.
He took measures to protect our children by taking a stand against internet predators by being the first Sheriff in Major County history to join the Internet Crimes Against Children task force, thereby partnering and networking with state and federal law enforcement partners that has proven invaluable for our community.
Additionally, Sheriff Reames saw a need for stronger victim advocacy in the area, and through a Victims of Crime Act grant has built from the ground up a Victim Advocate program.
Sheriff Reames has also taken a strong stand against drugs by continuing to build relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to attack and combat the problems in this community through the District 26 Task Force.
Sheriff Reames is involved in both civic and professional organizations such as Lion’s Club International, a member of the Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association, Oklahoma Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, and represents the Major County Sheriff’s Office annually during the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Sheriff Reames lives in Isabella with his wife and has 4 children. It is his belief that being a proactive Sheriff makes Major County a better place.
