Sheriff Anthony Robinson has dedicated his life to service. Anthony Robinson began serving our nation as his Grandfather had and enlisted on July 2nd, 2002 in the United States Air Force Reserve as a Security Forces Member. Air Force Security Forces, in addition to many other tasks, are police for the military stations they are assigned.
Soon after completing Basic training and the Air Force Police Academy in San Antonio Texas, Anthony Robinson returned home and joined the Oklahoma County Reserve Deputy Academy. Before completing the Oklahoma County Reserve Deputy Academy, Anthony Robinson was asked to take a volunteer activation on Tinker Air Force Base. During that time he would be tasked with Security of billions of dollars worth of our nation's vital assets and the safety and security of approximately 26,000 military members, spouses, and civilian workers. Anthony Robinson loves to serve and continued to volunteer for approximately eight years in a full time active duty role. During this time, Anthony Robinson was part of the Contingency Response Team similar to S.W.A.T. for civilian law enforcement. Anthony Robinson was the first Reservist on active orders at Tinker Air Force Base to ever join this team.
Anthony Robinson was also the first Reservist on Active orders at Tinker to attend the Airman Leadership school. Anthony Robinson deployed two times during his military career, once to Kirkuk Iraq and once to Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan Anthony Robinson continued to work and promote in both rank and position until leaving active duty as a Technical Sergeant and Assistant Flight Chief. Before leaving Active Duty, Anthony Robinson was responsible for approximately 180 active duty troops.
Once leaving Active Duty, Anthony Robinson continued to serve on Tinker Air Force Base under the Civilian Department of the Air Force Police as a shift supervisor in charge of approximately eight civilian police officers. Anthony Robinson then made a difficult decision to leave Tinker Air Force Base to pursue his career in civilian law enforcement.
Anthony Robinson's parents both worked for the State of Oklahoma which influenced his decision to apply to be an Oklahoma State Park Ranger at Lake Thunderbird. While employed at Thunderbird State Park, Anthony Robinson received several certifications to include Intoxilyzer Operator, Basic Instructor, and Firearms Instructor. Anthony Robinson loved serving for Oklahoma State Parks however he was still left with a strong desire to return to Northwest Oklahoma where he has fond childhood memories of living at Alabaster Caverns State Park in Freedom Oklahoma and Boiling Springs State Park in Woodward Oklahoma.
On January 1, 2019, Anthony Robinson was hired by the Major County Sheriff's Office. He knew right away that he had made it to his forever home. Since Anthony Robinson was hired, he continued training and became a Field Sobriety Test instructor, Crisis Intervention Team member, and active shooter response instructor. He continues to serve the amazing people of Northwest Oklahoma and strives to make improvements to public safety throughout Major County.
Sheriff Robinson lives near Chester with his wife, children, and many various animals. Sheriff Robinson feels truly blessed to not only serve but also be a part of our great community.Sheriff Robinson looks forward to continuing to serve and believes strongly that as Sheriff it is his responsibility to not only enforce law but to help people in whatever needs might arise. It is Sheriff Robinson's belief that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
